Quotes and booking
Do you charge for quotes?
No. Quotes are free. For installs, Sam comes out to look at your home so the quote is accurate.
How do I book a job?
Call Sam on 0450 481 359, email info@samsheatingandcooling.com, or send the quote form. We'll arrange a time that suits you.
How quickly can you come out?
It depends on the time of year and the job, but we often get to urgent breakdowns the same day or the next morning. Call us and we will tell you when we can be there.
Do you work weekends?
For urgent jobs, often yes. Give Sam a call.
Areas
What areas do you service?
We look after homes across South-East Melbourne, including Berwick, Narre Warren, Cranbourne, Clyde North, Officer, Pakenham, Beaconsfield, Hallam, Hampton Park, Endeavour Hills, Dandenong, Rowville and Glen Waverley. See all the areas we service.
Do you do commercial work?
Our work is mainly residential: homes, units and townhouses.
Split systems and air conditioning
How much does split system installation cost?
It depends on the size and brand of the system and how complex the install is. Sam gives you a fixed quote after looking at your home.
What size split system do I need?
Roughly 2.5 kW for a small bedroom, 3.5 kW for a larger bedroom or study, and 5 to 8 kW or more for an open-plan living area. Insulation, ceiling height and windows matter too, so we check the room first.
Which brands do you install?
Leading brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Toshiba and TCL for split systems, and Bonaire for evaporative cooling.
How often should my air conditioner be serviced?
Clean the filters every few months, and have it professionally serviced about once a year.
Heating
How often should ducted heating be serviced?
Energy Safe Victoria recommends servicing gas heaters at least every two years. It keeps your heater safe and efficient and catches problems before winter.
My heater is blowing cold air. Can you fix it?
Usually, yes. Common causes include ignition, flame sensor and thermostat faults. Call us and we will diagnose it on site.
Hot water
I have no hot water. Can you help?
Yes. We repair and replace gas and electric hot water systems. Call Sam and tell us the type of system and what it is doing, and we will get you sorted.
Should I repair or replace my hot water system?
If the tank is leaking, it usually needs replacing. Many other faults, such as a pilot that will not stay lit or a failed thermostat or element, can be repaired. We will tell you which makes more sense.
About us
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Sam holds Victorian Building Authority (VBA) licence 43391, and all our work is fully insured.
Is there a warranty on new systems?
New systems come with the manufacturer's warranty. Ask us about the details for the system you choose.
