Fresh, low-cost cooling for the whole house

Evaporative cooling is one of the cheapest ways to cool a whole home in Melbourne's dry summer heat. It pulls in fresh air through wet pads and pushes it through your ducts, using a fraction of the power of refrigerated air conditioning.

We install new systems, replace old roof units, and service and repair existing coolers across South-East Melbourne.

What we do

  • New installs: evaporative cooling for homes that do not have it yet
  • Replacements: swapping a worn-out roof unit for a new one, often using the existing ducts
  • Servicing: cleaning the pads, water tank and pump, and checking the water flow and drain
  • Repairs: pumps, motors, float valves, leaks and controls

Time for a service?

  • The air is not as cool as it used to be
  • Musty or stale smells when it starts
  • Water leaking or overflowing on the roof
  • It has not been serviced since last summer

FAQ

Common questions

How often should an evaporative cooler be serviced?

Once a year, ideally in spring before the hot weather starts. A service keeps the pads and water clean and the system running efficiently.

Evaporative or refrigerated cooling: which is better?

Evaporative cooling is cheap to run and brings in fresh air, and it works best in dry heat. Refrigerated systems such as split systems cool well in humid weather and can also heat. We can explain the trade-offs for your home.

Can you replace my old cooler with a new one?

Yes. We regularly replace old roof units, and in many cases the new cooler can connect to your existing ducts.

Which brands do you install?

We install Bonaire and other leading evaporative cooling brands. Ask us for a recommendation for your home.
